Committed to excellence, Dr. Nicole Jones, President of Nicole Jones Development and Nicole Jones Commercial Real Estate, provides expertise in the fields of economic development, business development, and commercial real estate. Nicole Jones believes in Alabama, legacy, history, and heart. As an Alabama historian, Jones offers a noteworthy perspective in her primary profession, economic and property development, by helping communities and companies share their history and stories with others.
A pioneer in her field, Dr. Nicole Jones earned four degrees and two certifications with a primary focus on economic development and economic policy as disciplines. Jones completed undergraduate study in her hometown of Huntsville, Alabama at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and holds a Bachelor of Arts in History with research interests in government and public policy. Through the completion of coursework at the University of Alabama, Florida Institute of Technology in Huntsville, and seminary, Jones earned a Master of Business Administration with research interests in economic development, a Master of Science in Acquisition and Contract Management, as well as a Doctor of Philosophy in Theology and Public Policy. Nicole Jones is a Certified Alabama Planning and Zoning Official, a designation awarded by the Alabama Planning Institute, an affiliate of the American Planning Association.
Dr. Jones serves as a Liturgist at Huntsville First United Methodist Church. To lead effectively, Nicole Jones lives with a grateful heart and in total dependence on God.
In March of 2017, Economic Developer Nicole Jones became the first in Huntsville and among the first group in the state of Alabama to earn the EDAA Leadership Certification. The certification is granted by the EDAA Leadership Institute, a partnership between the Economic Development Association of Alabama (EDAA) and Auburn University’s Government and Economic Development Institute (GEDI).
Jones utilizes her expertise to grow and sustain industries in both large and small markets throughout our state. A lifelong learner, Nicole Jones stays on the forefront of economic policy issues through professional development coursework at institutions such as the University of Alabama, Economic Development Association of Alabama (EDAA), Alabama Planning Institute, and Alabama Center for Real Estate.
Being a productive member of society is an inherent component of Nicole Jones, as evidenced by her dedication to professional, civic, and philanthropic organizations as a spokesperson, board member, and corporate sponsor. Nicole Jones devoted her life to building the Huntsville community. In 2013 and 2014, Jones was recognized for work with the I Shop Local campaign, a partnership initiative with the Small Business Administration focused on the economic development-related benefits of shopping locally for goods and services. In 2015 and 2017, Jones was a Finalist for the Russell Brown Executive Leadership Award, a tribute to the good works and generosity of the late Russell Brown, a lifetime achievement award and the highest level of honor given to business leaders for outstanding contributions to our community.
Dr. Jones is a conservative business leader and stateswoman and is a member, sponsor, holds leadership roles, and is a contributing writer and speaker for various business, political, nonprofit, educational, and community organizations. Over the years, Nicole Jones has made a concerted effort to visit communities and organizations throughout our state as a method to share best practices.
